For comparison, if I'm not mistaken there were only 11 multicolored cards in Magic 2019. Guilds of Ravnica (like the 6 Ravnica expansions that came before it) was about two-colored pairs (the guilds, duh), and as such had an elevated number of multicolored cards. Magic 2019 was a core set so those are usually theme-neutral and simplistic, though it had a light Nicol Bolas theme. Dominaria was defined around history (the plane is the oldest one in the game of Magic, with dozens of expansions set on it). Ixalan and Rivals of Ixalan were mostly defined with flavor surrounding "age of exploration" stuff, hence why there weren't that many mechanical themes in the set. Yep!
